Part time work experience whilst qualifying as a Health and Safety professional:

  • In home carer working for Helping Hands a Newark based care provider.
    • Working Friday evenings and 7am to 10 pm Saturday and Sunday for approximately 15 months whilst also working full time during the week. 
    • Caring for the most vulnerable in society:
      • Persons with advanced dementia.
      • Persons with MND; Muscular Dystrophy; Quadriplegic disability and Persons with brain damage.
      • The elderly and frail. Male and female.
      • Working alone and with colleagues.
      • Using mobility equipment; slide sheets; hoists; inhouse lifts.
  • Working at KNOWHOW (part of the PC World / Curry’s Group) on zero hours contracts through Ambitions employment agency – Newark.
    • 30 nights on shift over Christmas loading domestic appliances on to wagons in extremely cold and sometimes wet weather.
    • Day shift work – 4 days on / 4 days off:
      • Sorting returns of domestic appliances – warehouse work.
      • Sorting returns of phones – warehouse work.
      • Call handler for customer enquiries regarding repairs and rentals – office work.

Full time work whilst also studying for a Health and Safety Diploma and then an Environmental Risk Management Diploma:

  • Brewers – Decorator Centres. Based in Eastbourne.
    • Working from home.
    • Responsible for 83 branches of the Brewers centres – retail / small warehouses.
    • Worked as a Health and safety Advisor.
    • Branches spread across England and Wales outside of London and the South East.
    • Visited almost every major city and town in England and Wales in a 3 year period.
